1. Great Quality

After ten years of trading, we are confident that we have sourced the best quality yarn, weavers and printers.

All the fabrics except the Hand Printed collection and the Plain Linen Unions score a good BWS rating of 6-7 for colour-fastness to light.

The Hand Printed collection and the Plain linen unions score 4-5..

All score 30,000 on the Martingale Rub Test for wear and tear, which is excellent. 

This means that your fabrics will give years of pleasure!  We can arrange fire retardency and Scotch-guarding finishes if required.

2. Printed in the UK

All our fabrics are printed in the UK, except for some of the Hand Printed Collection which are hand block printed in India. 

In all cases, the printing is personally supervised to ensure top quality and good colour matching from batch to batch.

3. Eco-Friendly

We do not agree with the heavy use of dangerous pesticides and therefore only buy certified organic cotton, which is combined with eco-friendly flax, to create our unique linen union which we use for all our fabrics, printed and plains.

Wherever possible, we source whatever we need locally, in Britain, and do whatever we can to limit our carbon footprint and impact on the environment.

In our main workshop, our heat comes from an air-to-air source heat pump and our sample room is highly insulated using sheep’s wool.  We use recycled paper and biodegradable cardboard.  All our waste card and paper is shredded and used as bedding for ducks and chickens, which in turn makes compost for the vegetable patch.

4. Independent

We are an independent, family-run company.  Vanessa designs all the collections personally and overseas all the stock control, sampling, mail order and marketing.  We aim to hold a 100% stock so that we can deliver all our order within a few days!

5. Easy Ordering

Customers can order by phone, on-line or by fax.  There is a new easy to use website for those who are used to computers, but we are also happy to give help and advice over the phone. 

Our aim is to provide good, old-fashioned personal service.

6. Up to 5 Free

Unlike many companies, we offer up to five fabric samples for free.  Thereafter, we charge £5.00 for 6-10 samples, £10 for 11-15 samples and £15 for 16-20 samples.  These are sent by post, first class on the day they are requested.

7. Fast Delivery

Our fabrics are normally sent on a roll to avoid creasing and delivered by Parcel Force to arrive on your doorstep.  Orders are usually processed within 7 days but we offer an Express, overnight service for urgent orders, which costs £10 extra.

8. Friendly and Helpful Advice

Our girls are trained to give helpful hints and tips about which fabric to choose, colours to mix and work well together, which style of curtain or cushion would be best for you and how you might trim whatever you are making. We have loyal team of 8 who have all worked here for many years…..!

9. Secure Payment

We understand your concerns about payment.  We use Pay Pal to process your orders and all your card details are destroyed.

10. Inspirational Ideas

Both our website and our brochure contain wonderful room sets and detailed photography, designed to inspire you.

We find that once someone has used one of our fabrics, they come back for more!  This is probably because our designs and colours are so calm and easy to live with that many people redecorate one room they cannot resist doing another!

We produce a new collection every 15 months, but ensure that everything we introduce will mix and match with previous collections.

Once on our client list, you will automatically receive a new brochure of inspirational ideas unless you specify otherwise.
