Made to Measure Roman Blinds

Is Linen Union a good fabric for Roman Blinds?

We commission a unique Linen Union fabric: a mix of 60% Linen and 40% Organic Cotton. This creates a wonderfully strong cloth, soft to handle fabric and perfect for blinds.

The Linen and organic cotton are sustainably sourced from Belgium and Turkey, woven in Lancashire, and printed in London. We stock and fulfil all our Linen Union orders from our one and only showroom here in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, ensuring every piece is thoroughly quality checked before dispatch.

Most of Vanessa's earlier collections are Linen Union fabrics, such as the Wildflower and Sky Collections, but are beautifully soft and incredibly easy to work with.

Many of Vanessa’s designs are printed on this Linen Union, stemming back to when she first started designing fabrics over 23 years ago. Some of the most popular designs printed on this cloth are Cow Parsley, Lattice Leaf, Fern and Dragonfly, Song Birds, just to name a few. We make beautiful curtains, blinds, headboards, and furniture using this cloth, through our Made to Measure service.

Please ask for fabric samples and see the colours in your rooms. If you order some half metre returnable samples you can drape them over your existing furniture or pin them to your existing curtains, live with them for a while and make your decisions carefully.

We hold a good stock of all our fabrics ensuring delivery is usually within 3-5 working days (subject to availability). The same team, who takes your order, will roll, inspect and cut it, so accuracy and quality can be assured.

HOW TO MEASURE UP FOR YOUR ROMAN BLINDS

INSIDE A WINDOW RECESS

Width: Measure across the recess at several points and give the narrowest measurement minus 1cm for clearance so the blind will run freely (see E on the diagram)

Length: Measure from the top of the recess to the bottom (see E on the diagram)

OUTSIDE A WINDOW RECESS

Width: Measure the width of the recess and add at least 5cms on each side for overlapping (see F on the diagram)

Length: Measure from the required starting position above the window to the length you require, adding 5cms on the length
