How to reupholster a chair seat: a step-by-step guide<\/strong><\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Prepare your workspace<\/b>. Choose a clean, flat surface with good lighting, and have a screwdriver, staple gun, sharp scissors, fabric, and padding at the ready. Lay down an old sheet or dust cloth to protect the area.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Remove the seat<\/b> from the chair frame. You can usually do this by unscrewing it from beneath. Check that the frame is still sturdy and tighten any loose joints before continuing.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Carefully <\/span>strip away the old fabric<\/b>, prising out any old staples or tacks with a flat-head screwdriver or staple remover. Try to keep the old fabric pieces intact, as these will serve as your cutting templates.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Inspect the padding and webbing<\/b>. If the seat feels saggy or the foam has deteriorated, replace it with some fresh wadding, foam, or natural fibres. This will make the chair more comfortable and supportive.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Cut your new fabric<\/b> using the old cover as a pattern. Allow at least 5cm extra all around for folding and stapling underneath.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Position and secure the new fabric<\/b>.
