Customers repeatedly combine these colours in their own room schemes, and I have also used these two colours (peach and smoke) in my own kitchen and photographed it for my brochure!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5674\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanessaarbuthnott.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Kites-Cabin-Tallet-400kb-21-400x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Why smoky blues and soft terracottas?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These two earthy colours sit so comfortably together. They are grounded and balanced tonally and sit opposite each other on the colour wheel, which means they harmonise beautifully. Terracotta is the colour of the earth and brings a rustic, natural feel into a home; whereas smoke is the colour of water and sky and creates a soothing, cooling vibe.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Is there a particular room where these colours really sing?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6339\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vanessaarbuthnott.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/26013094-15b-M_LOW-RES-72dpi-800x534.jpg\" alt=\"Patterned bedspread\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I believe that these two colours are particularly glorious in living rooms and dining rooms. But here I have shown them looking very pretty in a bedroom \u2026 so any room is my answer!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>You\u2019ve introduced these colourways across four best-selling designs \u2013 do you have a personal favourite combination?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course! My favourites of the new colourways are the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanessaarbuthnott.co.uk\/fabric\/wild-fern-peach\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wild Fern in Peach<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanessaarbuthnott.co.uk\/fabric\/lapland-stripe-duckegg-smoke-peach\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lapland Stripe in Duck Egg, Smoke &amp; Peach<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. I love the texture of the weave alongside the printed linen union.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>If someone is new to pattern, which of these fabrics would you suggest they start with?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The beauty of these designs and fabrics is that they work together beautifully and you can\u2019t really make a mistake. Just go with your instincts and favourites!
