I offer plain cotton drapery fabric, and textured wool and velvet fabrics for curtains and upholstery. Stylish, modern and utterly versatile, our Plain-woven fabrics: Tweeds and Velvets work perfectly in their own right, as well as coordinating with any of our printed fabrics and wallpapers.
For Plain upholstery fabric made in the UK choose from the selection of colours, from neutrals to softer shades of washed colour such as Duck Egg and Pigeon, sophisticated shades of grey such as Dove, Scree and Charcoal and brighter signature accents such as Sweet Pea and Saffron. They are Suitable for any interior, from homes to hotels.
What can I use plain upholstery fabric for?
My Plain fabrics are made from a linen and cotton blend: 40% Linen and 60% organic cotton. The cotton gives the extra strength for upholstery. The Plain Linen Unions are a medium weight and have a good rub test making them suitable for upholstery and great for blinds and curtains.
You need to choose the best shade for your room by considering the way the room faces, the amount of light you get and the atmosphere you want to create. Do you want a light and airy room or are you trying to create a warm and cosy scheme?
My plain fabrics including Tweeds and cotton Velvets works really well together are perfect for upholstery of sofas, chairs, bed heads and footstools.
Think about using a contrasting colour for the piping and any buttons to add some interest, for instance a Sweet Pea chair with Charcoal piping.
Which of your fabric designs, colours and patterns work well with your plain upholstery fabric range?
All my printed fabrics work well with the Plains, the colours are designed to match and coordinate, and for instance the subtle shade of Clay in my printed fabrics matches the Plain Clay Linen Union.
The plain fabrics work well with other more vibrant and intricate designs such as Charcoal with For the Love of Rose in Saffron and Charcoal the Plain makes stunning piping around the edge of a bed head.
Again, a Plain leading edge can enhance the look of a patterned curtain for example Leaf Dance in Saffron and Charcoal with a Charcoal Plain leading edge.
