Yellow is the colour reminiscent of lemons, and sunshine. It offers fresh appeal in each of its many variations. What could be more inviting than a warm yellow coloured lampshade and a scattering of yellow cushion covers to welcome you home? The colour of eternal summer, we can’t think of any shade we would rather come home to on a bleak winter’s day – or better, a warm spring evening.

Saffron, this beautiful strong shade of yellow upholstery fabric, is fresh and strong enough to make beautiful yellow lampshades and sit happily with darker shades of grey, such as Winter, Charcoal, and Scree. It also works particularly well in living rooms.

Ochre is again, another strong almost mustard coloured yellow that teams perfectly with the Lichen green, and darker blue colours. See the Lattice Leaf, Wild Fern and Little Fern.

The softer Buttercup yellow is the perfect partner for the gentler blue-grey Clay with added accents of Charcoal. This combination of yellow and grey striped fabric is very pretty in kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms, exemplified in the designs Song Birds, Fruit Garden, and French Ticking.

The counterbalance between the warmth and cheerfulness of the yellow and the cool greys is perfect. The grey and yellow interiors create happiness and warmth and are spectacular in the evening when the sun is going down and the fire is lit.

Hay is the softest yellow. To create beautifully elegant sitting room or bedroom curtains, try the Fern and Dragonfly, Lapland Stripe, Down to Earth or Dainty Daisy. 

Sand yellow reflects the colour golden beaches can be more sophisticated in a sitting room or dining room, adding warmth without the brightness through lampshades. The designs encompassing this beautiful colour can be seen in the Cow Parsley, and coordinating Stripe and Dash fabrics.

With Straw, it has moved towards a mustard yellow. The mustard and grey upholstery fabrics add that warmth and light to a room and are in the Fruit Garden design mixed with Pigeon.

The Straw and Sand yellows have been teamed with Pigeon grey and Cornflower blues, counterbalancing the warmth of the yellow with the cool of the blues. So, plenty of colours to build the scheme around in your sitting rooms and halls.

There are four shapes to choose from: empire, drum, pleated, and candle (always sold as a pair), along with several size options. You can choose a second fabric to line the lampshade; applicable to drum lampshades only.

You can buy our fabrics in 10cm increments, starting at 50cm, and make your own lampshade. Alternatively, you can use our Made to Measure service and we will make one, especially for you.

Please ask for fabric samples and see the colours in your rooms. If you order a half metre returnable sample you can drape them over your existing shades, or just in situ to where the shade will go, and see how it looks. All our fabrics are printed in the UK on a good weight of 100% Linen, and Linen Union, making them suitable for lampshades, curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery. We hold a good stock of all our fabrics ensuring delivery is usually within 3-5 working days subject to availability. The same team, who takes your order will roll, inspect and cut it, so accuracy and quality can be assured.
