Is Teal a good colour choice for Quilts?

Teal is a strong colour, but being from the blue family of shades it is a rare combination of strength and quietness in one. There are very few colours that you can use throughout a whole scheme and not feel utterly overwhelmed by, and teal is one of them. With such a breadth of tones, it can cheerfully be employed for Teal upholstery fabric, underfoot as rugs, and on the walls as a backdrop.

There are of course many different shades of blue as with all colours; from the cooler shades of Cornflower and Indigo. Teal takes its name from a bird named the 'Common Teal' which has a Teal stripe on its head. Teal is a mixture of blue and green. It can be mixed with white to make it lighter, or with grey for the reverse effect.

What other colours can I use with Teal for my Quilts?

There are many other colours you can team Teal fabric curtains, namely: Lime green, Raspberry red, Pumpkin oranges, and Damson pinks. These are all warm colours which complement Teal blue fabric so well. We combine these colours already for you in the following designs in particular: Pretty Maids, Stockholm Stripe, and Lapland Stripe.

In choosing your Teal blue Quilts, you can mix larger prints with spots and stripes, all colourfully coordinated to bring your home to life: see Pretty Maids, Stockholm Stripe, Life & Eternity Detail, and Up the Garden Path. The Cow Parsley print is very popular in this shade, which is available in the Teal and Pigeon colourway.

You can also add in the second colour through teal cushions, or even in a Teal fabric covered lampshade for softer accents around the room. All these we can make for you in our Made to Measure service.

Please ask for fabric samples and see the colours in your rooms. If you order a half metre returnable sample you can drape them over your existing soft furnishings, or just in situ to where the fabric will go, and see how it looks.

All our fabrics are printed in the UK on a good weight of 100% Linen, and Linen Union, making them suitable for lampshades, curtains, blinds, cushions, and upholstery. We hold a good stock of all our fabrics ensuring delivery is usually within 3-5 working days subject to availability. The same team, who takes your order will roll, inspect and cut it, so accuracy and quality can be assured.
