The Forest Collection

Ever conscious of the environment, inherent in my work practices and mirrored in my designs which burst with beautiful imagery of the world around us.

During the Spring of 2021 when museums were closed and travel was limited, it was the natural world around me that fuelled my imagination. I spent many hours experimenting with the art of potato printing, carving, and then hand printing more and more intricate and delicate shapes. Exploring the interplay between negative and positive spaces.

The flawless and fascinating shapes of ferns have captivated me since I was a child. I would while away hours walking through forests and woods, collecting fern fronds, and taking them home to press and draw. I was endlessly fascinated by their forms; sometimes symmetrical and other times not.

The Forest Collection depicts a nature inspired collection with block printing, as seen in my Little Fern and Wild Fern designs.

I have also included a geometric trellis design called Lattice Leaf, a two-coloured print that combines some of the most popular and best complementary colours we can offer, such as Ochre yellow and Lichen Green, Soft Cornflower blue with Moss green, and many more.

Sow and Scatter comes on brightly coloured backgrounds with cream coloured diamonds and dots, beautiful as an all-over fabric or simply used as leading edges or trims.

I have also brought in new colourways of existing Designs, namely Lapland Stripe, Up the Garden Path, French Ticking, Life and Eternity Detail, Simple Ticking Detail, and Stockholm Stripe!
