Let's get started by selecting your fabric…

Made to Measure Lampshades

Yellow not only makes us think of the daffodils that blossom in our gardens and throughout the surrounding countryside in the spring, but it also evokes feelings of happiness and joy. These factors serve as inspiration for Vanessa and can be found in the following two fabrics, which she has selected as her favourites for this past month.

Lampshades in the Song Birds fabric are a great option if you're looking for a low-cost method to add some colour to your soft furnishings. These will arrive in five weeks after you place your order, and in addition, the striking Buttercup yellow colour and the illustrative patterns will make an impression when in situ. Due to the large pattern repeat, we would advise applying this to a larger drum or empire lampshade in order to maximize the design's display when assembled; the impact of the design may be lessened if you choose to use a pair of candle or pleated shades.

The Song Birds incorporates additional Charcoal and Clay greys, which contribute to the design's depth and vitality. We provide matching Plain Linen Unions and a variety of printed fabrics in these colours that you might use to create a contrasting inner lining for the same lampshade. This is limited to drum shades, but it's still an option that can help you give your shades some personality that will make them genuinely unique to your décor. Little Fern, Life and Eternity Detail, Simple Ticking Detail, and French Ticking are a few examples of these. Our two coordinating fabrics, French Ticking in Buttercup and Clay, and Wild Rose in Buttercup, Clay, and Charcoal, match perfectly if you wish to stick to the Song Birds colour scheme. The design blends seamlessly with both.

The Stockholm Stripe is Vanessa's second favourite fabric. This majors in Dove grey, with a dash of Saffron yellow to help enliven the fabric. Many of our customers highlight the Saffron when choosing a lampshade, mostly to lighten the space and balance the whole appearance. Why not incorporate any of them into your custom, handmade shade? The rich, golden hue looks stunning against opulent, dark Lichen greens, dark blues, and even faint touches of plum purples. Don't worry if you decide against it and keep your lampshade single-lined; you can use these colours in other areas of the room instead.
