Teal is a strong colour, but being from the blue family of shades it is a rare combination of strength and quietness in one. There are a few colours that you can use throughout a whole scheme and not feel utterly overwhelmed, teal is one of those. With such a breadth of tones, it can cheerfully be employed for blinds, underfoot as rugs, and on the walls as the backdrop to the lot.

Teal Fabrics for Made to Measure Roller Blinds

Teal is a strong colour, but being from the blue family of shades it is a rare combination of strength and quietness in one. There are a few colours that you can use throughout a whole scheme and not feel utterly overwhelmed, teal is one of those. With such a breadth of tones, it can cheerfully be employed for blinds, underfoot as rugs, and on the walls as the backdrop to the lot.

There are of course many different shades of blue as with all colours; from the cooler shade of Cornflower and Indigo, to the softest shades of Lake Blue and Speedwell. Teal takes its name from a bird named the 'Common Teal' which has a Teal stripe on its head. Teal is a mixture of blue and green. It can be mixed with white to make it lighter or with grey for the adverse effect

Teal Roller Blind fabric is warmer than the Cornflower, Indigo and Denim having a little bit more yellow in it, turning it towards the greens and making it a popular choice for warmer tones in day rooms such as a kitchen. Teal designs include Life and Eternity Detail, Up the Garden Path, By the Sea, and Branching Out designs all come in this colour along with stripes and spots to coordinate, such as the Simple Ticking Detail, Stockholm Stripe, and Pretty Maids with pigeon.

Do you have any Teal blue fabric suitable for roller blinds?

The Teal blue fabric is a warm adjunct to navy. Navy can be rather cold, albeit it is the nation’s favourite shade! Combine dark blue denim curtains with midnight navy hues, add in a pop of teal fabric and the whole room will be lifted: try a teal blind or a Wall Covering in the Up the Garden for extra impact.

Teal is the perfect accent colour for a room design. A Made to Measure Roller Blind in this wonderful shade can add a burst of life to any space, from living rooms to bedrooms.

What other colours do my Teal curtains work well with?

There are many other colours you can team with Teal fabric, mainly with Lime Green, Raspberry red, Marigold and Pumpkin oranges, and Damson pinks. These are all warm colours which complement Teal blue fabric so well. We combine these colours already for you in the following designs in particular: Stockholm Stripe, Cow Parsley, and Pretty Maids.

In choosing your Teal blue blinds, you can mix larger prints with spots and stripes, all colourfully coordinated to bring your home to life.

Pros for choosing Roller Binds:

GREAT FOR INSIDE A RECESS – Roller Blinds are a great option if you want to install a blind inside a recess because they are really easy to fit, lightweight, practical, easily adjustable with beaded chains (or ivory cord), and visually very stylish.

PELMETS - if you have your blind inside a recess, you can choose to have a smart, perfectly pattern matched pelmet that covers the roll at the top revealing the reverse lining; this is approximately 11 cm deep. It has revolutionised the use of Roller Blinds, making them much more attractive and usable in all rooms of a house!

MAXIMUM LIGHT – if you want to allow in as much natural light as possible, Roller Blinds may be the better option over Roman Blinds. With Roller Blinds, the fabric rolls up at the top of your window and will take up about 9 cm of space.

CENTRAL PULL – with a Roller Blind you can have a centre pull which can be handy on a window behind the kitchen sink. This comes with an ivory coloured cord and wooden acorn.

LOWER MAINTENANCE – once you have pulled up a Roman Blind you sometimes have to handle the folds as they can get caught in the cords, you don’t have this problem with Roller Blinds. It is just one piece of fabric that is adjusted with either a continuous beaded chain to either the left or right hand side of the blind, or as previously mentioned, a centre pull.

TREATMENT OPTIONS - We offer three different finishings on our Roller Blinds: Laminate, Blackout, and Processed. The laminated backing is a lining bonded onto the face of the fabric (no lamination takes place to the face fabric). Blackout is an off-white lining, which again is bonded to the fabric but is ideal for privacy. And Processed is just the fabric on its own with that has a clear stiffening spray applied to it for rigidness.

STYLISH IN DESIGN - You have a lot of creative freedom when it comes to the finished look of your Roller Blind. In addition to a pelmet, you can also add a 5 cm contrasting bottom border. Any of our other fabrics can be used for this, for example Gypsy Garland in Dove, with a bottom border in Stockholm Stripe - Dove, Winter. You could also opt for a Plain Linen Union in Saffron border instead, to go with the Gypsy, depending on the other colours in your room. The choice is yours to coordinate as you see fit!

Also, if you can’t reach the top of the window at all easily, a Roller Blind with a pelmet to hide the roll might be the right choice as you will have no need to reach the top ever. The maximum size for roller and roman blinds is 240cm x 240cm.
