Folk art has always been an art of everyday life — made by and for ordinary people, rather than for galleries or grand houses. Across generations, makers have captured the natural world around them through hand-painted flowers, leaves, flowing shapes and decorative motifs, often using simple materials and techniques.

It is this warmth and character that Vanessa has drawn on for the Folk Collection. Taking inspiration from the painted furniture and decorative traditions of Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, she has reworked these familiar folk forms in her own way, combining expressive pattern with a fresh, contemporary palette.

The four coordinating designs each have their own character, from stylised florals and decorative motifs to playful and restful stripes, while sharing the same sense of simplicity, colour and connection to nature.
