Made to Measure Roman Blinds
Are Roman Blinds suitable for a bay window?
Roman blinds are well suited to bay windows. Three blinds or more can sit side by side in a bay window. It is a great choice if you want to maximise light; the blinds pull up neatly.
We now offer pelmets that cover the top of the roman blinds if they are outside the recess. This pelmet smartens up the blinds for a more formal feel. We have photographs in our inspirational photography showing the use of roman blinds across a bay window.
How do I measure a bay window for a Roman Blind?
Our website helps you to place an order for roman blinds in a bay window. You can measure your windows for blinds using the online guide; click here to go to the 'Help & More' section where you can find the 'Measuring Instructions'. Should you prefer a visual guide, here is a very helpful video giving you the step-by-step processes on how to measure. You need to think carefully about how the blinds pull up and the room at the top of the window for the stacks to sit next to each other. You may have to make the blinds as narrow as possible, so that they cover the glass but don't knock into each other.
Can you pattern match the blinds across the bay window?
Yes we can the blinds would all be made starting at the same place at the top and we can line up the pattern across the width of the blinds.
Borders - You can add a 5 cm contrasting bottom border, or an all-round border on the right, left, and bottom edge of the blind. Any of Vanessa's fabrics can be used for this, for example Gypsy Garland in Dove, with a bottom border in Stockholm Stripe - Dove, Winter, or Pretty Maids in Dove and Winter. Plain linen unions also make great borders for Roman Blinds.
Roman Blinds can be made for you through our Made to Measure service with fabrics printed in the UK on a good weight of 100% Linen and Linen Unions. We hold a good stock of all our fabrics.
You can order your Made to Measure Roman Blinds straight from our website. The online guide and video will help you measure your windows for blinds. Click here to view a helpful step-by-step video on how to measure.
