WAYS TO SEE AND BUY MY FABRIC

WhatsApp Consultations

Clair, our Design Consultant, leads this free of charge virtual consultation service. She’ll make you feel right at home, literally, by calling you at a pre-booked time via WhatsApp video. You can then discuss your projects with her while she suggests colorways, coordinates, complementary accessories from our Made to Measure service, and suggested fabrics rolled out for you to look at, all from our Cirencester showroom in Gloucestershire.

This must be the most environmentally friendly way of having free interior design advice with no travel involved at all. The appointments are for 30 minutes, but do book two appointments if you have several rooms to plan for.

Click on this Book here button to reserve your consultation slot; scroll down to click the green button at the bottom.

Whilst all of my fabrics are suitable for Made to Measure furniture and soft furnishings, I thought I would write about our favourite fabric at the moment, Fallow Deer, which is from my Botanical Collection.

FALLOW DEER

This is a really delicate and fine one-colour print.  The fabric depicts naively drawn deer. Fallow deer are elegant, medium-sized deer, with a spotted coat, a black and white tail and white rump patch. They are the only species in the UK with palmate (large, broad and flattened) unlike the small antlers of roe deer.

In my design they are hiding and looking out from behind and in front of stylised trees; they are enveloped in a ogee shaped trellis of flowers and leaves taken from some of my other designs, such as Pretty Maids and Herbaceous Border.

First of all I had this design wood block printed in Jaipur, but because the lines are so delicate, it turned out to look too faintly printed on my organic cotton/linen fabric. I decided to move it onto a silk screen, where we could make the lines stronger and I am happy with the eventual result.

The look of this design resembles a Toile de Jouy which is an 18th century French scenic pattern.

I can see this fabric on beautiful full length bedroom curtains, childrens playrooms, on blinds in bathrooms, and also in elegant sitting rooms.
