Terracotta, Peach & Rust Fabric

Terracotta, Peach, Tangerine and Pumpkin are the names I have given to my earthy coloured soft furnishing fabrics.

Terracotta is often used as a colour word to describe the natural brown-orange colour of terracotta products. A shade between orange and brown, terracotta is a cosy colour that helps to warm the house with just a few touches.

Terracotta can be made by mixing light brown and red.

I have several striking linen terracotta curtain and upholstery fabrics, for example, my Wild and Free design, a beautifully illustrative design depicting animals taken from early art at the British Museum. It is suitable for any room in the house. I also have a stripe called Stockholm Stripe in terracotta mixed with charcoal grey.

Peach is a softer shade of terracotta, and provides a really warm feel in any room. My favourite fabrics in peach are May Blossom, Lattice Leaf and Fruit Garden. I have mixed this shade of soft terracotta with a range of blues.

On the same theme Tangerine is a yellow orange, whereas Pumpkin has more red in it. Pumpkin looks wonderful with Duck Egg blue and Smoke, whereas Tangerine coordinates well with my Sweet Pea pink. Both of these orange fabrics can also look dramatic and modern when used with Charcoal and Winter.

You can be restrained and use orange as a small pop of colour or go for it and choose wonderful orange curtains or even use orange Marigold Velvet, which is so luxurious and striking; makes spectacular curtains. Also in Marigold we have Sow & Scatter, and Simple Ticking Detail
