Spring is on the way and so are brand new fabrics!

Winter is waning and after what has felt like an incredibly bleak winter, it is finally time to look forward with a spring in our step as the seasons gradually change. I always know when the days are getting longer as my chickens begin laying eggs again…

NEW COLOURWAYS FOR SPRING

Whist I was out of action following a knee replacement I decided to look into which of my early designs have stood the test of time and here are the winners…

Of the best sellers: Cow Parsley, part of the wildflower collection is the veteran at 21 years old,

French Ticking, from the meadow collection, is 15 years old, Life & Eternity, from the hand printed fabric collection, 13 years old and finally Up The Garden Path and Stockholm Stripe, both part of the Swedish collection, a mere 11 years old!

Extraordinarily the colourways in these designs: my ‘early’ fabrics, are still in demand…

I decided to listen to this message and rather than design yet more fabrics I would play to these strengths.

In my opinion, the success of a fabric is 50% colour and 50% design. So the next step was to analyse my sales by colour and finally, 11 new fabrics are now ready to roll!

Starting with Up the Garden Path (2012), a design inspired by a beautiful skirt I saw a friend wearing made from a length of vintage cotton from Sweden. This is now available in Soft Cornflower,  Light Lichen (a deep green), and a glorious new very soft orange called Day Lily.

Up the Garden Path colourways in Day Lily, Light Lichen and Soft Cornflower.

My new Lattice Leaf design from the Forest Collection (2022) has proven to be very popular so I have added another colourway in Moss and Cornflower with a new French Ticking to support it.

Lattice Leaf – Moss, Cornflower / French Ticking – Moss, Cornflower / Cow Parsley – Moss, Cornflower

Like the Cow Parsley (2001) in our May hedgerows which seems to have eternal life, so thrillingly does my design, and I do hope you like my new Moss with a Cornflower butterfly fabric.

Life and Eternity (2010),was born out of a textile trip to Rajasthan and a passion for paisley, is now in two new fresh and joyful colourways: Ochre and Tomato.

Little Fern, part of my Forest Collection (2022), is whizzing off the shelves, so I have been encouraged to add in a tomato red!

Wild Fern (2022) has also been very well received , so I have created a new gentle Duck Egg and Smoke colourway. And finally, a Stockholm Stripe made with Pigeon, Peach, and Winter looks fabulous with both Peach and Pigeon fabrics. It gives you the opportunity to combine these two colours in a room.
