Made to Measure Roman Blinds

Hallways are places where you can have a bit of fun and make a statement. Roman Blinds on the back of a glass door work very well. Also if you have a window and door, you might decide to hang a curtain on the back of the door and a Roman Blind on the window.

What fabrics would you recommend for a hallway?

Darker, stronger colours are best for a hall, with heavy traffic passing through a front or back door, also fabrics with good colour coverage rather than a cream background, for hiding any marks.

We would suggest fabrics such as Dainty Daisy in Field Green or Charcoal, also Gypsy Garland in Cornflower, Damson or Charcoal.

Can you make Roman Blinds for a hallway for me?

We can make Roman Blinds for you and deliver them to your front door!

Borders - You can add a 5 cm contrasting bottom border, or an all-round border on the right, left, and bottom edge of the blind. Any of Vanessa's fabrics can be used for this, for example Gypsy Garland in Dove, with a bottom border in Stockholm Stripe - Dove, Winter, or Pretty Maids in Dove and Winter. Plain linen unions also make great borders for Roman Blinds.

Roman Blinds can be made for you through our Made to Measure service with fabrics printed in the UK on a good weight of 100% Linen and Linen Unions. We hold a good stock of all our fabrics.

HOW TO MEASURE UP FOR YOUR ROMAN BLINDS

INSIDE A WINDOW RECESS

Width: Measure across the recess at several points and give the narrowest measurement minus 1cm for clearance so the blind will run freely (see E on the diagram)

Length: Measure from the top of the recess to the bottom (see E on the diagram)

OUTSIDE A WINDOW RECESS

Width: Measure the width of the recess and add at least 5cms on each side for overlapping (see F on the diagram)

Length: Measure from the required starting position above the window to the length you require, adding 5cms on the length
