Fruit Print Fabric

My fruit print fabric: ‘Apples and Pears’ was originated from my daughter Rose’s original bold drawings.

I organised her beautiful drawings into a pleasing repeat and gave it hopefully a sophisticated retro feel, reminiscent of the 1950’s. my aim was to produce a fruit fabric that could be used nay where is the house.

It is printed on a lovely 100% Linen cloth and comes in 6 colourways, form Damson pink to soft Pigeon and Clay. The cloth is woven in Scotland and printed in the UK.

What inspired you to create the fruit-print fabric, and who would like it?

The wonderful shapes and colours of fruits provide the opportunity for enticing geometric patterns. When you cut a fruit in half you see wonderful shapes of the apple core, seeds and stem. These my daughter boldly drew to create this fruit print fabric with its pleasing organic shapes.

What can we use your fruit pattern fabric for?

This fruit print is perfect for upholstery fabric and covers chairs and sofas very pleasingly. The weight of the linen is suitable for upholstery. Head boards and footstools would also look bold and stylish covered in this fruit patterned fabric.

This design depicting Apples and Pears would suit a kitchen and dining room in particular. It makes up beautifully into long curtains and also is suitable for blinds, both roller and roman.

Which of your fabrics from your range work well with your fruit print fabric?

All the other fabrics in the Orchard Collection coordinate perfectly with my fruit design fabric, namely Sepals and Petals, Fruit Garden, and May Blossom. The designs sit well side by side and also are in matching and coordinating colours.

Apples and Pears is the largest pattern in this collection and sits beautifully with the smaller prints of Sepals and Petals, and May Blossom. For instance make your curtains from the fruit print and cover your sofa in the May Blossom, with cushions of Sepals and Petals.
