Made to Measure Roman Blinds

Why should I choose 100% Linen for my Roman Blinds?

Linen is considered to be the strongest of all natural fibres due to its strength and durability.

It's a natural fibre with a lower environmental impact than cotton.

Linen is a naturally sustainable choice - flax is a hardy plant that thrives in poor soil and on rainwater alone, and because it doesn't need pesticides, the environmental impact of linen is much lower than that of lots of other fabrics. Every part of the plant has value, eliminating any waste. Flax is biodegradable and is now commonly recycled.

Linen is sturdy by nature and holds the ability to repel dirt and stains, making it an excellent choice for soft furnishings.

It's luxurious.

Very easy to sew with.

Most of our printed fabrics are based on a 100% Linen cloth or a smoother Linen Union (linen and organic cotton mix), both of which feel and look beautiful. The flax is grown in Belgium, woven into cloth in Lancashire, and then printed in England.

The 100% linen yarns are dyed and then intricately woven together to produce this very fresh Scandinavian Woven Collection.

The Ikat part of the stripe (a characteristic of ikat fabrics is an apparent irregular "blurriness" to the design) is created here by screen printing the colour onto the warp (north to south) threads, and then the weft (west to east) is woven across them producing the irregular and famous Ikat shapes. These linens are hand loomed with incredible expertise and love.

Please ask for fabric samples and see the colours in your rooms. If you order a half metre returnable sample you can drape them over your existing blinds, or just in situ to where the blind will go, and see how it looks. All our fabrics are printed in the UK on a good weight of 100% Linen, and Linen Union, making them suitable for lampshades, curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery. We hold a good stock of all our fabrics ensuring delivery is usually within 3-5 working days subject to availability. The same team, who takes your order will roll, inspect and cut it, so accuracy and quality can be assured.

HOW TO MEASURE UP FOR YOUR ROMAN BLINDS

INSIDE A WINDOW RECESS

Width: Measure across the recess at several points and give the narrowest measurement minus 1cm for clearance so the blind will run freely (see E on the diagram)

Length: Measure from the top of the recess to the bottom (see E on the diagram)

OUTSIDE A WINDOW RECESS

Width: Measure the width of the recess and add at least 5cms on each side for overlapping (see F on the diagram)

Length: Measure from the required starting position above the window to the length you require, adding 5cms on the length
