What Plain fabrics do you offer for Quilts?

We offer a wide selection of Plain Linen Unions, textured wool, and Velvets, all suitable for Quilts. Stylish, modern and utterly versatile, our Plain fabric includes Plain Linen Unions (a cotton and linen mix), and Harris Tweeds (made from 100% British woold), work perfectly in their own right, as well as coordinating with any of our printed fabrics and Wallpapers.

For Plain Linen Union upholstery fabric made in the UK, choose from the selection of colours ranging from neutrals, to softer shades of washed colour such as Duck Egg and Mushroom, sophisticated shades of grey such as Dove, Scree and Charcoal, and brighter signature accents such as Sweet Pea, Day Lily, and Saffron. They are all suitable for any interiors, from homes to hotels.

What can I use plain upholstery fabric for?

Our Plain Linen Union fabrics are made from a linen and cotton blend. Cotton gives extra strength to upholstery whilst the linen provides durability. The Plain Linen Unions are a medium weight and have a good rub test of up to 36,000, making them suitable for Quilts which we can make these for you as part of our Made to Measure service.

Which of your fabric designs, colours and patterns work well with your plain Quilt fabric range?

All the printed fabrics work well with the Plains, the colours are designed to match and coordinate. For instance, the subtle shade of Clay in the printed fabrics matches the Plain Linen Union in Clay. The plain fabrics work well with other more vibrant and intricate designs, such as Charcoal with For the Love of Rose in Saffron and Charcoal, the Plain makes stunning piping around the edge of a bed head.

Again, a plain leading edge can enhance the look of a patterned Quilt, for example Leaf Dance in Saffron and Charcoal, with a Plain Charcoal leading edge, and complementary fabric on the reverse.
