Made to Measure Roman Blinds

Which fabrics are best for creating winter curtains that add warmth to a room?

The best solution for insulation and draught exclusion is interlined roman blinds either on their own or in combination with interlined curtains. We can make these interlined curtains in the fabric of your choice, all made specifically to your measurements.

We would advise using warm hues such as raspberry, peach, cranberry, terracotta, and tomato to warm up a space. As the nights get longer, these warm colours will create a cosy room.

See our designs: Cow Parsley, Fern & Dragonfly, Nordic Stripe, Up the Garden Path, Acorn and Leaf, and Fruit Garden in particular.

Please ask for fabric samples and see the colours in your rooms.

Borders - You can add a 5 cm contrasting bottom border, or an all-round border on the right, left, and bottom edge of the blind. Any of Vanessa's fabrics can be used for this, for example Gypsy Garland in Dove, with a bottom border in Stockholm Stripe - Dove, Winter, or Pretty Maids in Dove and Winter. Plain linen unions also make great borders for Roman Blinds.

Roman Blinds can be made for you through our Made to Measure service with fabrics printed in the UK on a good weight of 100% Linen and Linen Unions. We hold a good stock of all our fabrics.

You can order your Made to Measure Roman Blinds straight from our website. The online guide and video will help you measure your windows for blinds. Click here to view a helpful step-by-step video on how to measure.

HOW TO MEASURE UP FOR YOUR ROMAN BLINDS

INSIDE A WINDOW RECESS

Width: Measure across the recess at several points and give the narrowest measurement minus 1cm for clearance so the blind will run freely (see E on the diagram)

Length: Measure from the top of the recess to the bottom (see E on the diagram)

OUTSIDE A WINDOW RECESS

Width: Measure the width of the recess and add at least 5cms on each side for overlapping (see F on the diagram)

Length: Measure from the required starting position above the window to the length you require, adding 5cms on the length
